cell money
After writing my previous post, I suddenly realized that a small cellphone app would be perfect for tracking money like this. (And they probably exist someplace for certain phones.) Why carry another device when virtually everyone already has a cellphone on them? Even more cool would be if the app could be set up to sync with other phones. In that case, my wife and I could both have the same app and sync them together. If I subtract a value from a budget on my phone, within a few seconds that subtraction is recorded on her phone, too. That way things are kept in sync if we’re apart and potentially spending from the same budgets from different physical locations.
This could be done with a standard online website, of course, assuming each phone could access the web from anywhere and it didn’t cost a fortune. Paper is pretty easy, though, and requires less debugging…
