Day 8: Uncle
Today’s app is a tribute to the man, the legend, the religious icon: Steve Jobs. What better way to honor him than with an iPhone app? And what better iPhone app than smiling Steve as a bobble head…

haha, i almost got in trouble again. I love it, but hate apps with unexpected sound
November 8th, 2007 at 8:27 am
@Perry: from where I’m sitting… it’s pretty funny.
Don’t get expelled!
November 8th, 2007 at 8:28 am
ugh i hate this app… its really stupid and pointless, the only good ones were the gas one burp and the wall you should make more that we can like intract with others more, not just pointless stuff that entertains us for 2 minutes
November 8th, 2007 at 8:38 am
Hey some have to be pointless. They do take time to make theses.. and some more then others.. anyway at least there will be one guy out there who will keep this on his iPhone for the time to come. (Steve your going to have to hack your phone)
November 8th, 2007 at 8:38 am
@sean
I’ll just have to wait til a break to get a better laugh.
@joey
Just shut up and make your own apps.
November 8th, 2007 at 8:43 am
Hahaha!
November 8th, 2007 at 8:54 am
Now I’m pissed, I saw the mouth open and doesn’t actually talk? Argh I’m so stupid
November 8th, 2007 at 9:11 am
@Perry: he should talk… unless something is wrong.
It works on mine, anyway. (Steve is prone to saying “Boom” a lot….)
November 8th, 2007 at 9:27 am
hehe…”…boom” … esta chistosa la applicacion
de hoy. Buen trabajo Sean. La de la comida la mas
interesante hasta el momento.
November 8th, 2007 at 10:20 am
@sean
I just need to get in a quieter place. Does the ringer volume determane how loud he is?
November 8th, 2007 at 12:35 pm
this app sucks!!
November 8th, 2007 at 3:00 pm
Cool app
Why are yall always so quick to jump and says: “this app sux !!!” ???
I dont think any of you would be able to create an application every day with ANY functionality for one month !!!!
Good job Sean,
Good luck with the rest of the apps !!!!!
November 8th, 2007 at 5:12 pm
My sentiments exactly, Russell.
November 9th, 2007 at 1:14 am

November 9th, 2007 at 2:22 pm

November 9th, 2007 at 2:40 pm
what language u program iApps with?
November 9th, 2007 at 3:04 pm
@brandon: Objective-C. It’s the same language most apps for the Mac are programmed with, so coding for the Mac is a good way to learn the basics of coding for the iPhone - a process that I assume will get easier in February unless Apple takes some weird evil route with their announced SDK.
November 27th, 2007 at 3:30 pm
Hey, are any of your apps OPEN sourced? I already modified your Steve Jobs bobblehead app by replacing my own graphics and it came out beautiful… I also recorded my own sounds like “BURRRP” “I have a neckache” “Whaaazzzaaap” etc etc..
but without your source code I am finding it hard to remove the splash screen that still shows steve Jobs… I also want to re-align the mouth so that it opens at the seam of my lips rather than 5 pixels below, which I was forced to do by default using the steve jobs images as masks. a better question is, can you open source “UNCLE” or possible open source a bounce.app or something using the accelerometer, playing random sounds, etc etc.. the uncle.app would be perfect to learn some new stuff with… thanks!
November 27th, 2007 at 3:31 pm
@Zurie: Dude.. they’ve all been open source since the start.

November 28th, 2007 at 8:06 am
arg! i seriously went to that website! i thought that was the source for “i-app-aday” the package installer that puts the source in the apptap installer.app ?? where can i get the source for each app for each day? I look on that site but I feel lost? Do I have to create an account on google to see more than the 3 source files for the pkg? I am sorry if I sound lost.
November 28th, 2007 at 9:12 am
@zurie: http://iappaday.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/
November 28th, 2007 at 12:00 pm
yes sorry… I commented… then I went back, looked and eventually found it in “trunk” I came back to your blog to post about how I just found it and I am not 100% helpless, but your blog blocks out double posts so I was left looking like I am mentally challenged
I am going to experiment with some dev tools later this week when I get some time! thanks for the open source goodies.
