Day 20: Sleigh
Today’s is a simple little game where you help Santa avoid the falling ice. There’s not a lot more to say about it than that.
Enjoy!

First time I ran it I got killed right away, then I had more luck with the icecles, fun game, would be cool to be able to trigger the falling with a tapp.

Uh also a submit score, where there is a highschore with the longest times.

@Mario: Actually, if you tip the phone/iPod too much to the left or right, all of the ice falls at once.

does your planet spin at a different speed to mine? - where do you find the time?, did you start before November?
November 20th, 2007 at 8:10 am
@Alex: dude…. I’m so exhausted.
I had started about 2 weeks before November and built up a buffer of maybe 7 apps before the month began - but it wasn’t really big enough. I’ve been barely able to make something each day now for almost a week and it’s very tiring.
Hockey was an exception in that I started it some time last week and only dabbled on it slowly over time (constantly getting hung up by the physics) in between working on the daily apps and getting abused via email and blog comments.
Sleigh was written entirely yesterday and so far today I haven’t got anything for tomorrow… or the day after, etc. *sigh* It never ends!

It ends Nov 30

@Alex: nice one

Another fun app, thanks Sean!
Not that you asked, but below are some ideas that might help get you through another day. Keep up the GREAT work!
Some ideas:
Bubble Wrap Time waster: (possibly using the physics engine too).
Quarters Drinking Game: (using “flick” to launch quarters).
US States / Capitals Quiz: (Shows US map, you are then asked where is X state, city etc…. (would be great for peeps with kids).
Magnet Rollercoster: Set up the pieces, tap in X location to drop ball and see if your refrigerator magnet roller coaster worked.
Periodic Table: Clickable with definitions of course.
Memory Game: Just like the classic, flip a match until you clear the screen.
Drum Set: Tap the drums and play a beat
Guitar: Strum the screen and play some tunes (probably really tough I know)
Lightbright: Just like the classic
and on and on and on…………just some ideas, I am sure you, me and the world has a million more…..keep it up, your almost there……are you sure you dont want to do another month
November 20th, 2007 at 1:26 pm
Yeah, try doing another month….
November 20th, 2007 at 3:47 pm
pacman? helicopter game?
November 20th, 2007 at 4:51 pm
Sean, can you just make an app that has multiple pictures of you. This way I can make out with you anytime I want.
Thanks, sweetie-pie.

I think all those suggestions that person gave
are GREAT ideas, I would also consider a piano app.

Here’s an idea for an app: I would call it chooser or maybe short straw. You know when you have to pick a person to do something… well you would input the number of people and you pass the phone around and each person touches the screen and the program randomly assigns the short straw to someone.

this app is so gay! i am uinstalling right this moment and it is so dumb. maybe tommorow you will have a useful app

First of all THANK YOU for bringing us apps for our beloved iPhones/Touches
Secondly, congratulations for succeeding in programming one app a day!
Thirdly, I have a suggestion for a useful app.
Would it be possible to create a “scheduled-launcher” (based on cron or something) that could launch any app at any specified date/time?
You guessed it, the idea is to turn my iPod Touch into a web-radio-alarm-clock by launching the iRadio app each morning.
That would be SO nice to have.
Let me know if you can/want/have the time to do it

@sexymama:
Your functioning fingers are wasted because they are wired to a minimally capable and obviously overtaxed brain. Sean isn’t writing these apps to improve upon your sad, naggy life. And something tells me your moniker is about as accurate as a Bush Administration Defense Report. Maybe you should try “Snatchy38″ or, “HaggishHeckler.” Leave the guy alone; he defacates more sense than what comes out of your mouth in a year.

LOL!!!
