Day 25: World

It has been awhile since I’ve done a social app, so I really wanted to push something social out this weekend. It’s not the most amazing thing ever, but it should be fun for a little while. :) Unfortunately I didn’t have time to figure out how to choose a picture from your photo library in addition to using the camera, so iPod Touch folks are sadly stuck just being spectators again. Sorry guys… :(

Anyway, the idea is you tap on the world where you are, take a pic, and then sit back and watch the other pictures. :)

    Sean,

Awesome. Don’t worry about leaving out touchies. The Touch is, sad as it may be, the poor man’s iPhone.

Perhaps if you release an update, a function that takes the location piece out of the user’s hands and pinpoints by IP might work… I dunno.

    Either way, good job.

I was wondering- with all the hype and cash out there surrounding the gphone, have you given any thought to developing anything on that platform? I’m sure some of your innovative and creative approaches would translate, and maybe even score you some much deserved cheese.

@chrissss: al of the iphone apps have been working fine on the ipod touch from day 1 of the ipod touch jailbreak. go to installer.app, sources tab, hit edit, hit add, and add the source http://repo.us.to

Sean, so how many downloads of each program are you seeing on average? Are you planning on, or have you been, making apps for purchase? i.e. What would you charge to make something along the lines of a live stock ticker? I click on your ads every time, but your skills warrent more compensation. -J

the one part I don’t like is that it starts at the same pix every time.

You know what you should do? Find the internet IP on the iPhone/iTouch and in this page, and for those that leave you those stupid comments, banner them in the next applications from download in this site or from working in the device! Just an idea to give you revenge! ;)

Another application idea, have you though of an exchange rate application? I can give you the sources via web services if you want. Meaning: I give you the data in whatever format you want by calling a url, you just need to display it nicely. Up to you …

    Great …

Great social app but too bad this app doesn’t have some way of knowing where the IP is coming from so it places the target in the general area automatically. Have you seen that Nav program that triangulates cell towers and gets an approximate location? I know that is probably a little too complicateed but it would be perfect.
Most people don’t hit any where so it appears that there a million people in Croatia with iPhones! LOL
